Park Advisory Councils
What is an Advisory Council?
Park Advisory Councils (PACs) are voluntary groups of individuals who meet regularly to support the effective functioning of their local parks. Advisory Councils can also be formed for Chicago Park District dog parks and community gardens.
Park Advisory Councils represent more than 225 parks in all 77 community areas across the City of Chicago. PACs promote ways for the community to better utilize the Chicago Park District's programs and facilities. They raise awareness of park projects, communicate with the Park District, help find alternative funding sources for park enhancement, and host events and activities. Their work is essential!
