IT’S YOUR PARK DAY
THANKS FOR JOINING US • JUNE 1, 2024
YOUR Park, YOUR Day, Celebrate in any way!
Our Pitch In for the Parks season of citywide park clean-ups runs June through October each year. We kick it all off the first weekend of June with a special event called It's Your Park Day.
It’s Your Park Day is a community clean-up day across dozens of Chicago parks! Most groups will spend their event doing a trash pick-up. Events hosted by Park Advisory Councils (PACs) may include additional activities like tree mulching, playground fibar replenishment, and more. Free, fun, family-friendly.
It’s Your Park Day 2024 was generously supported by Presenting Sponsor Chicago Association of REALTORS®, and in part by Boxed Water and Move-Tastic.
It’s Your Park Day 2024 was a great success!
Despite a very rainy Saturday, we saw incredible turnout from our dedicated volunteers at 40 parks across the city! An extra special thank you from Chicago Parks Foundation to everyone who braved the elements and still showed up with a smile to pitch in on June 1st.
Activities went beyond just trash pick-up and also included tree mulching, flower planting, wildflower seeding, repainting, yoga in the park, nature area replenishment, cultural performances, and even a sustainability fest!
Thanks also to the Chicago Park District's Mike Brown and the park grounds folks, and all Park Advisory Councils and community groups who hosted.
Chicago Parks Foundation is proud to coordinate this annual event for our parks. It is a testament to the dedication of our community members that we can come together no matter the weather!
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER IYPD?
We keep pitching in - and we hope you'll join us!
IYPD kicks off our Pitch In for the Parks (PIFTP) program running June through October. Just like IYPD, we provide hosting PIFTP groups with complimentary supplies to independently host trash pick-ups - but PIFTP events can be at the park, date(s), and time(s) of your choice June-Oct. Or organize a Green Teams clean-up event for your corporate group at a park in need!
